Okay play the song you have to hear it. It’s ambient, very synth heavy. Synths kind of envelope you, you know, you can’t escape the synth when you listen, you can’t try to stop hearing it because it’s all that is there. There is synth and guitar. Two. The song repeats at the halfway mark so once you get to halfway you can stop listening but I think you should keep listening on repeat while you read because it will add to your reading experience.
So first I want to talk about the music. The synths are sad, they make me sad, they make me think about all of the things I don’t want to think about and I think that is done on purpose. I’m not to into music theory so I don’t understand scales and stuff like that but whatever scale the synths are using is a sad one, its a downer. I mean when I try to listen to the synth and ignore the guitar, I feel… complete. Its almost like the synth is what is missing from my life. I really don’t know how to explain the feeling but I hope you guys might kind of understand.
The guitar can be broken down into five unique riffs or strums or whatever. The first one is at 5 seconds. It goes really high before tapering off a little bit. I see this song as a story, as self expression. Chet Blakey, who is the artist, is telling us about himself. The first guitar is like you are so close to getting something but you know you won’t ever reach. The second is a little more accepting and then that little ending guitar like seals the deal, it’s kind of like a “damn.” The third guitar is a building one, and it’s like the emotion is building into a cry at the end. That final high pitch sounds reminds me of a whine of a baby or something like that. The fourth guitar starts high, and stays high and is only three notes long. And I think it’s the climax, it’s when the most happened. The height of the emotion. The fifth section is the longest section and the notes go downwards and it feels like the height of his emotions just happened and now we’re coming down, we’re kind of realizing the situation and becoming okay with it. The sixth one seems incomplete… it seems like there should be another down note at the end, however, the lack of said down note leaves it with almost a confusion. And at a time where we just had our most emotional guitar yet, confusion can be a good thing, or like an uncomfortableness, but when you are at your most emotional, your most uncomfortable, the idea of comfort can be hard to understand and I think that final note is trying to say that you can stop whenever. You don’t have to keep going. If you’re doing something bad, you can stop and maybe you will find that you have done something good. Or something like that. The final guitar is calm. 3 notes. Two low ones and a high one at the end. And to me it feels like the end, like finally breaking free. Before starting over.
So that was probably the worst thing you have ever read, anywho onto more interesting things, the song itself is definitely supposed to make you feel something. It’s very simple, only two instruments, and those two instruments are used very simply, yet it still sounds beautiful, musically it’s amazing. I want to talk about how I find this song. tiktok Please watch the TikTok. It is weird. This guy has been posting shit like this for five years promoting his own music. And I think it’s such a unique way of self promo, and he has been so dedicated. Since the release of this song a few weeks ago, his tiktok activity has increased, perhaps because of the success of the videos. I don’t know. What I do know is that this guy is not normal. He is interesting he is a character kind of like me. Except I’m larping he is actually a character. So I saw that video, and if you look at his account a little bit, you’ll see all the weird shit. I mean where does he find these videos??!! But I think the vibe he creates is important I just think this is important. I think the way I found the song was important and the fact that its self promo is important and I looked up the song and it didn’t have a genius page so I created a genius page for the song so if you look up the song on genius, just know, the only reason you can see the song, is because I am the goat. The guy only has 600 monthly listeners but he does have over 100k followers on tiktok.
On Spotify, the song has about 12,000 streams, and it has about 1500 on YouTube. The point is this.
I wrote about how a song made me feel. I found the song on something weird on tiktok. Nobody else has wrote about how this song has made them feel. This is a nichepost.
